Hi Stampers!
How did your day go? Mine was loooooonnnnggg! Only because I was super tired today, but now that I am home... WIDE AWAKE - LOL! Does that ever happen to you?
Today is normally our posting day for our design team member Ceal Pritchett, however she is on a leave for an important family matter so I was up till the weeee morning hours playing in my stamp room to have something to share. I was actually done with my card pretty early but sometimes when I start playing... I can't stop so I started coloring some other images for some cards I wanted to do and then before I knew it... helllooo 3am! After that 6am comes pretty early and pretty fast! LOL!
After getting home today I checked my email and what did I find.... the most BEAUTIFUL card sent to me from Holly! Holly had my back and wanted to be sure that all of you had some eye candy today so she made a card just in case I wasn't able to get one done :) Such a sweetheart! After seeing her gorgeous card... I have to share it with you anyway...can't let this beauty go to waste :) So you will just get to see TWO cards today! Hope you don't mind!
Holly used one of the new release
Kraftin Kimmie Stamps from the Old Hollywood Collection - Lana! She colored her up so that even Elizabeth Taylor would be jealous! Those colors are GORGEOUS and that bling boa and paper pieced dress....AWESOME! I bet this is absolutely breath taking in person! I absolutely LOVE the sketch Holly used too! This card really brightened my day!! You can visit
Holly's Blog - KopyKat Creations to read all the details on this Old Hollywood beauty!
Now...like I told Holly, great mind's think alike because I also made a card using a Kraftin Kimmie Stamp... and I also made it for their current challenge going on... to create a card using the out of the box technique...just like Holly - LOL! EXCEPT mine is not all blingy and beautiful... quite the opposite... my lady is like Lana the morning after a hot night on the town.... hair turned to frizz and a little green from too many brews :)
I used the
Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz Collection for my card. I know it is a TAD early for Halloween stuff... but when I saw the Mojo Monday sketch and saw that Kraftin Kimmie's challenge was an out of the box technique... I had a light bulb moment :)
My card uses the out of the box technique with the Wicked Old Witch, I wanted the leftover part to be a moon so I used sponging to create that. I used some Stampin Up! punches to make my cauldron. My witch's brew is made from glittery green paper. The spider was a premade circle tag, I just cut him out and popped him on some black hemp twine for his web. The sentiment is from the
Kraftin Kimmie Halloween Sentiments, which or I should say, witch goes with this scene perfectly :) My papers are just random patterns from my paper hoard...yes I used some...gasp!
Here are some close up pics of my cauldron & my witch...
I colored this wicked lady using
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Markers on the
Crafter's Companion Ultrasmooth premium white cardstock. I traced the circle using a standard circle spellbinder nestabilities die then cut it out so I could cut around the image. The scallop circle is a
spellbinders nestabilities also.
Like I mentioned I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch # 253.
The photograph that I also drew inspiration from was this one from the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge... Isn't that moon gorgeous? I also thought the colors and creepy tree reminded me of a spooky Halloween night - LOL!
